In recognition of their contribution to the development of the gospel industry, veteran gospel musicians, Pastor Joseph Adelakun (a.k.a Ayewa) and Evangelist Bola Are have added another feather to their caps.
The musicians, who are one of the pioneers of the gospel music in Nigeria, alongside other notable Nigerians, were honoured by a Christian organisation, Project Blessing Nigeria, in collaboration with Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in Abuja recently.
The venue of the event was set agog, when Ayewa, Bola Are, Professor Jerry Gana, among others, were decorated with an award of excellence tagged: “National Christian Leadership Awards” at the National Christian Centre (Juubilee Resort).
Commenting on the recognition, Ayewa noted that the award was a well appreciated one, just as he thanked the brains behind the initiative.
“I am very honoured for this award. I thank God for everything that has happened to me in life and for his divine grace. Without His grace, we veterans can’t have this opportunity and it is a thing of joy that God is still speaking through our works. To me this award is a challenge not to rest our oars, as we still have more to deliver as a vessel of God in Nigeria and beyond, especially in our leadership qualities,” he added.
