A renowned music composer, who is the incumbent Music Director of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Pastor Tope Dada has revealed how he gets inspiration for music composition.
Pastor Tope Dada disclosed this in an exclusive interview with CAC NEWS.
He pioneered CAC Pastors' choir in 1995 and led a 5000 member choir during the CAC Millennium revival in the year 2000 (the largest to be recorded at that time).
He said that he depends on Holy Spirit for inspiration.
He disclosed that he gets inspiration of songs at times during prayer, or when he just woke up after attending a vigil, Holy Spirit will just be singing to his ears.
Pastor Dada who is the Senior Pastor of CAC New Covenant Assembly, Iju-Ishaga, noted that he gets inspiration of some of his songs during choir rehearsal, particularly when he is treating a song, another one will drop into his hearing.
According to him, he also gets inspiration while going through some challenges.
He explained that; " For example there was a particular song Holy Spirit helped me to composed which is titled " Mo more Jesu se." This is how I got the inspiration; My late friend, Pastor Mike Tayo Ojo after getting married in 1982 had challenges of child bearing. Him and his wife, Bimbo were wonderful couple, but there was no child. Eventually, to God be the glory, they gave birth to the first born. After a while the second pregnancy came. On one fateful day, I and Pastor Tayo finished eating breakfast, I was looking at his wife Bimbo with the pregnancy, then the song just came... Mo mo re Jesu se.... That was how I got the songs. We were approaching Christmas period and I can say emphatically that I gets a lot of songs inspiration during Christmas."
He also said that; " I gets inspiration when I am happy or joyful. At times it may be when something is happening in the environment. Holy Spirit usually sings to my hearing. At times it comes like a string. Nobody can hear it, but only me and I will write it down."
