He noted that marriage is marriage indeed when there is friendship between the husband and wife.
According to him, friendship is the foundation of marriage, explaining that if there is no friendship, sex will become punishment.
Pastor Oladokun said there must be timely confirmation in marriage, saying for example, women always like their husbands telling them "I love you."
"Another thing that is very important in marriage is truthful communication. Some couples love themselves but they lack truthful and good communication. When you are communicating, you talk out your problem in love. One of the characteristics of true friends is that they talk in love."
"Another vital factor in communication is listening. You listen to what has been said and what your spouse or partner is about to say. Friends talk or speak their minds to each other. You must tell your spouse what satisfy you and what doesn't satisfy you," he said.
The Cleric also said that in marriage there must be total commitment, adding that there are so many promise makers nowadays but there are few promise keepers.
