Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji Osun state will today 19th January 2018 hold her 8th Convocation ceremony.
The Vice Chancellor of JABU, Prof. Sola Fajana stated at a press conference recently that about 23 students graduated with first class.
The don also disclosed that a total of 566 students would be graduating at the convocation ceremony coming up next Friday. He said the number comprised 544 first degrees and 23 higher degrees.
Giving the breakdown, the VC said, “ A total of 23 students bagged first class, 222 have second class honour (upper division), 244 have second class honour (lower division) while 55 students finished with third class honour.
“At the postgraduate level 17 will be awarded master degrees while postgraduate diploma will be awarded to five students.”
Fajana, who noted that all academic programmes of the university had been accredited by the National Universities Commission, said the university was able to provide grants for its academic staff for the purpose of research.
Stressing that the institution was making a tremendous progress in the area of research and entrepreneurial programmes, he added, “The university has continued to advance in all frontiers of learning and to encourage distance learning mode of study and also to assuage the yearnings of the teaming youths out there, the university’s centre for distance learning is awaiting the nod to commence ODL programmes from the NUC. “
