Impactful leaders are well known and remembered not for number of years they spent at the helm of affairs, but for the unqualifiable impacts they made and lives they touched.
The incumbent Music Director of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide Pastor Tope Dada who marks his birthday today belongs to the generation of leaders who showed interest in lifting the youths from grass to grace.
Apart from being the Music Director of the church, Pastor Tope Dada is the Senior Pastor of CAC New Covenant Assembly, Iju-Ishaga Lagos.
The Custodian of Music made history with CAC Worldwide at the millennium revival in year 2000. He coordinated a 5000-member choir of CAC that ministered at a programme which was the first of its kind in the country.
While speaking with CAC NEWS, Pastor Tope Dada explained how God called him into music ministry. "The first area of service of every young individual in our church is the choir. In those days leaders will somehow identify your potentials and task you with some responsibilities. I was a member of the children choir when I was a young child. Later on I joined the main church choir, became band leader and eventually became the church choir master. I was a member of the choir in my home town which is CAC Alabukun Efon Alaye Ekiti state."
"Later on I moved to Ibadan in the 60s and I joined the choir of CAC Agbokojo in 1968. I was the only tenor singer there and one of the young boys in the choir. God helped me there to grow my talent. They allowed me to play some roles. After there, I moved to Akure where I joined CAC Oke Egan choir. There as well God allowed me to use my talent and I became one of the trainers of the choir even as a young boy. I was the only one training them in terms of hymn, how to sing to part and others. I later moved back to Ibadan because my school was in Oyo state."
"In my school, which was Government Technical College Oyo state, I was the choir master of CAC Student Association. I was also the choir master of the scripture union group. So I was the choir master in two fellowships and I was very active in both. Later on when God planted CAC Awe, I was also the choir master. Years after that God helped me to make impacts in the music ministry in CAC. When I moved back to Ibadan, I became the music director of CAC Agbokojo."
"At the national level, I have been part of the choir leadership both at the assembly and district level in CAC for more than 30years. I was part of United Association of CAC Choir in those days before it was banned by the authority of the church. I was one of the youngest among the team. The likes of Baba Oyesanya, Elder Okafor later Pastor was there, Yemi Ajayi now Pastor was there, Late Pastor Babayemi was there and hosts of others. I am happy to be part of the second level of leadership as far as music is concern in CAC Worldwide."
