The President, Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide and Visitor to Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Pastor (Dr.) Abraham O. Akinosun, has called on the newly inaugurated council members of the university to pursue the herculean task placed before them with zest and zeal.
Speaking at the inauguration of the fourth council held at the university’s Senate Chambers, Akinosun said the council would see to the general control and superintendence of the policy, finance and property of the university, including its public relations and related functionalities.
He added that the structure of the council was to ensure that proper provision was given for adequate representation of the new regional structure of the church. He also said it was in a bid to ensure that relevant information concerning the progress of the university was adequately disseminated to the grassroots and reflected the composition of the membership of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide.
Responding, the Chairman, Governing Council, Prof. Anthony Imevbore, appreciated the Board of Trustees for “saddling the newly constituted council with the noble task of ensuring that Joseph Ayo Babalola University attains the glorious position and lofty vision envisaged by the founding fathers of the university. The council will remain committed the vision and mission on which the institution stands and consequently serve conscientiously for desired results.” (PUNCH)
