Prophet Samuel K. Abiara |
A former General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, Prophet Samuel K. Abiara, has called on wealthy Nigerians to take care of the poor in the society.
The cleric, in a statement on Tuesday, noted that Nigeria would witness peace in 2019.
He said, “There are people who cannot afford a meal for two days. There are people who cannot send their kids to school.
“So, we have started empowering such people since last year. We offer scholarship and recently gave N50,000 to about 100 people to start small-scale business. It is not a loan, but start-up grants.
“You need to see how transformed these people are one year after. This is why I tell rich Nigerians to help the poor. Many of them are too rich. What are they going to do with the cars and houses they have? Will they take them to heaven?
“Many of them have estates that they cannot even manage again. They should please give up some of these things for those who lack.”
He, however, warned wicked people and those planning to manipulate the general elections that God would punish them if they did not repent.
Abiara said he would organise an interdenominational men’s vigil on Friday at the Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, Ile Epo, Lagos.
He added that while there would be prayers for the nation and leaders at the vigil, “there will also be breakthrough for all Nigerians.” (Punch)
