What The Holy Spirit Taught Me This Morning

Topic: Don’t be a Judas!
“How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?” And they gave him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus. “ Matt 26:15-16 NLT
Proverbs 23:7 says “ For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..,” As Judas was thinking of betraying Jesus guess what the other disciples were thinking ? “The disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you?” That is Verse 17 of the same scripture . One is thinking of betraying his boss, others are thinking of the elevation of their boss!
The question is who are you betraying and why? Christianity in our time has become awry! You hear people say I can’t trust anybody, not even my spouse, not even my boss, not even my pastor! Why? Because unfortunately we are in the age of betrayal. But should it be so? Must you be a Judas?
The last time I checked Jesus is God. He is omniscient -all knowing. He did not only know Judas technically he made Judas practically! Not just that, he made him one of his disciples . He knew Judas will betray him, yet he chose him as one of the disciples, one of the executives. In today’s terminology he was the Minister of Finance in Jesus’ cabinet. God knowing all Judas is out of His love appointed him yet, all Judas was thinking of was to bring Jesus down! Reading further in the chapter, Jesus said one of you will betray me! Is that not enough reason for him to back out of the plan; now that he was sure Jesus knew! Meaning betrayal is an attitude? Is that your attitude? Do you just have attitude of betrayal despite and in-spite of love shown to you?Who are you betraying ? Family members, Friends, Church members, Your nation,Your organization? Why?
As we begin to celebrate Easter this year, don’t just wear a new dress or old one and go to church to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus . Ask yourself have I collected 30 pieces of silver to cause someone’s downfall ! What does it mean to betray? Betrayal is the breaking or violation of a presumptive contract, trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship amongst individuals, between organizations or between individuals and organizations.It is to inform upon or deliver into the hands of an enemy in violation of a trust or allegiance:When you say something that is not true about that friend, sister/brother, pastor, it is betrayal. When you leave your spouse at home and you go looking for that man/ woman outside, you are betraying your spouse. When you forged that receipt it is betrayal. When you fail to pay that staff his or her salary it is betrayal. When you fail to do your job , making unrelated phone calls in the office, spend all the office hours on social media, and running errand for yourself during the office hour and expect full pay for the day you are a betrayal.The question you should ask yourself is why? Why am I destroying my marriage/home? Why are you are stealing that government money, pensioners fund, why are you rigging that election, why are you taking bribe to manipulate justice, when you divert that project fund for your private use, you are betraying the system.
When you pad the budget you betray the nation. When your decisions are based on tribalism, ethnicity, nepotism you are a betrayal of the construct. What the Holy Spirit taught me today is about the end of Judas, end of betrayals .
Peter gave us the gruesome picture and result of Judas betraying Jesus:”Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.18
¶ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood”
Just for you to know most times :
1. Betraying is not a momentous act it is planned over time. You can always stop it.
2. Betrayal is just an instrument in the hand of the devil to spoil or destroy people.
3. Betrayers don’t spend the rewards/money of their evil acts. So why do it?
4. Betrayers are destiny destroyers. (If Jesus did not rise from the dead, Judas would have ended the life of Jesus for nothing at 33 years thereabout) They are life terminators. (I pray you will not be the victim of a betrayer)
5. The end of betrayers on earth and in heaven is terrible, total destruction! Don’t go there!
The Holy Spirit is warning you today, to stop destroying yourself and people’s destiny with your act of betrayal. If you have betrayed people go ahead and repent, that is how to celebrate, Easter. Remember Peter himself betrayed his Master but he repented.My advice don’t go and commit suicide that is not an option.
