In a bid to contribute his quota to the development of music in this generation, Bro. Israel Oladapo, son of the Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Life and Power Zonal Superintendent, Pastor Mich 'Tunji Oladapo has launched a book entitled "God's Great Gift of Music to Our World."
The book was launched on Saturday April 7, 2019 at CAC Life and Power Zonal headquarters, Odonla, Ikorodu.
The book has focus, which is that of appreciating Music as God's great gift to our world, in both spiritual and secular realms, Christian religion in particular.
While reviewing the book, Rev. Prof. Ebenezer Olanrewaju Adeogun said that the book is written in a simple style and it was saturated with very relevant scriptures for spiritual effect.
He disclosed that the book has 139 pages, six chapters, Sam-Kem (Nig.) Enterprises Lagos is the publisher and printer, while the ISBN is 978-978-972-956-2.
Rev. Adeogun who wrote the foreword of the book revealed that the book is in six parts, noting that;"chapter one deals with The Basics of Music having its subdivision as, The Definition of Music, Rudiments of Music and Types of Music. chapter Two attends to The place of Music in Life with ten sub-topics, namely, Music and Social Situations, Music in the Field of Education, Music in Politics,Music in the Entertainment Industry, Music and Health, Music and Medicine, Music for the Elders, Music for the Adolescents, Music for Mental Disease and Music as Expression and Communication. Chapter Three which is designated, The Place of Music in the Church has four elements, namely, A Brief History of Music and Worship, The Place of Music in Nigeria and Pentecostal Churches, The Relationship between Music and Church Growth, and The Challenges Facing Music in the Church. "
"Chapter Four contains the Biblical Basis for Music in the Church as gleaned from the old Testament and the New Testament. For Chapter Five, Israel used his denomination, CAC Hosanna Chapel, Ikorodu, Lagos state as a model. In this part he attended to five matters about this model. The Brief History of CAC, The History of CAC Hosanna Chapel, The Structure of Music Ministry in CAC Hosanna Chapel, The Operation of Music in CAC Hosanna Chapel and The Role of Music in the Growth of CAC Hosanna Chapel through Data Analysis and Findings. Chapter Six of the book appears in form of summary, conclusion and recommendations as expected of a sound academic work."
He noted that the Bibliography of the book is quite impressive as the author endeavored not to spare himself in the gathering and using relevant literature.
Rev. Adeogun stated that Bro Israel should be commended for this good spiritual and academic production for the use of the church and the society in general.
