"Before you can do anything for God, He (God) must accept you. And the only way He can accept you is for you to come to Him and Jesus is the only way to get to him. Without repentance, your giving to His work has no foundation," Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Youth Officer, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro has said.
Pastor Gbuyiro stated this on Wednesday April 9, 2019 while ministering on a topic "Repentance From Dead Works" at CAC Chapel of Grace, Akobo Ibadan.
According to him, salvation is not about age or exposure, but the foundation of the Christian journey, adding that coming to Jesus Christ is not about joining a political party, rather coming into life and everyone must pass through repentance.
He said repentance is the core message of the scripture, lamenting that civilization has taken the message of repentance from the pulpit.
"Repentance starts from deep thinking and thinking that does not affect where one would spend his or her eternity is vanity. If any child of God will would think all, it should be about the kingdom of God and no one can get to the kingdom of God by mistakes," the Cleric explained.
Pastor Gbuyiro also said: "To repent means to confess your sins and to forsake (turn from) them as a result of sorrow over those sins. Not only that, it also involves bearing fruits that will show that you have repented. Having stopped sinning, you must start doing something else; bearing fruits worthy of repentance."
