Apart from the Holy Bible, the Hymn Book is another source of power, inspiration and knowledge for members of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide.
The church is blessed with a powerful hymnal composed not only by renowned international composers, but also by pioneer song writers in Nigeria who are from Christ Apostolic Church.
God used one of His battle axes, the 84-year-old Pastor S.O. Olukunle who was the pioneer and former Music Director of CAC Worldwide to arrange CAC Hymn Book in English, Hausa, Igbo and Isoko.
He was given Award of Excellence for his immeasurable contributions to music in CAC by the Directorate of Music, CAC Worldwide.
His Biography
Pastor Samuel Olufemi Olakunle was born at Oke-Odan, Ogun State in 1935.
He attended Kaduna Government College where he obtained Royal Society of Arts Certificate in Book-Keeping, English, Economics, Commerce and Typewriting. He was honoured with a doctorate certificate in Hymnology. He attended CAC Theological Seminary from 1981-1983 and obtained Diploma Certificate in Theology.
He was an Office Manager and Accountant with Green HAM Plant Hire, a division of U.A.C. from 1965-1980 before he became a Minister of God. He pastored three assemblies within 11 years before he was deployed to the CAC General Secretariat Ibadan as Personal Assistant to Pastor J.D. Obafemi, former President of CAC Worldwide.
The living legend worked on CAC hymns for the church and has arranged the English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Isoko Hymns versions. He also arranged tunes in staff-notation and tonic solfa for easy reference of those hymns. He is a translator by talent.
He wrote many books such as Ministers' Guide, Notes from the Bible, 100 Bible Lessons, Collections of Hymns With Similar Tunes in English and Yoruba.
Pastor Olukunle was the first Music Secretary and the first Music Director for Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, before he retired in the year 2015.
