The DCC Superintendent of Ayetoro DCC, Pastor E.S. Famuyide has told ministers of God that their homes is their first ministry and if they lose it, they lose all.
Pastor Famuyide who noted this on Wednesday September 25, 2019 while ministering at the 2019 Pastors' Conference on the topic "The Minister of God and Marriage Covenant" said any Minister of God who wants to go fast in the ministry can jettison his or her family, but anyone who wants to go far, should go with his or her family.
He told Pastors at the conference that "your home is more important than your ministry, when you retire you're still coming back to your home. Your ministry is your home, your home is your ministry, therefore save both. You don't pray for a happy home, you work for it."
Pastor Famuyide however, suggested to the authority of the church to create Marriage Counselling department at regional levels which ministers can go for counselling regarding their homes.
He noted that there are ministers dying in silence, they don't know where to go for counselling and their homes are divided.
The Cleric said over commitment, over spirituality, uncontrolled anger, lack of understanding and tolerance, failure of the individual responsibilities and jealousy, hatred and quarrel in the family are killers of the marriage covenant.
"The family antecedents all human relationships and societies, love as the great commandment, should be at the centre of all and everything we do in our family. Keeping our marriage covenant (in love) is the healing balm that repairs rift in personal and family relationship. It is the bond that unites families. It is the source that overcomes divisiveness and hate. Marriage covenant is the fire that warms our lives with unparalleled and divine hope," he said.
