There is no word that can best describe the joy of the day at the birthday ceremony of a living legend, the Provost of Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Pastor Stephen O.A. Afolabi.
The birthday ceremony which was held alongside a Book Launch took place on Friday November 8, 2019 at the main campus of the seminary in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The title of the book is "Ministerial Ethics and Ecclesiological Challenges in Nigeria."
While ministering at the programme, the retired and former Regional Superintendent of CAC Odubanjo Region, Pastor S.O. Akinsulure said God has sent each of us to this world to live a meaningful life and be fruitful for Him and He has given us an assignment which is to witness for Him.
Pastor Akinsulure also said that God doesn't want us to die prematurely.
He however said that anybody who doesn't want to die prematurely must keep his tongue from evil, stating that God wants us to depart from evil and be doing good to everybody.
He said the celebrant, Pastor Afolabi, should let the word of God be his word, know how to address his students and live his life more to please God and this also applies to everybody.
According to Pastor Akinsulure,
anyone who wants long life and prosperity should depart from evil.
He added that "Everyone of us has three segments of life. We have yesterday, today and tomorrow. What you have done with your yesterday can't be reversed. You have today and tomorrow to decide whether to do God's will or not.
The Provost, Pastor Afolabi, overwhelmed by joy of the day, appreciated God for everything He has done for him.
He said "we are ungrateful when God is grateful. As a family we lack wisdom. We lack knowledge, we lack understanding. God is everything to us. God has been our bedrock from the beginning. We return all the glory for what He has done."
The programme had in attendance the former General Superintendent of CAC Worldwide, Pastor D.O.A. Oloye; the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Pastor (Prof.) Bunmi Osun; former Vice Chancellor JABU, Prof. Sola Fajana; Pro-Chancellor, JABU, Prof. A.M.A. Imevbore; Head of Department of Religious Studies, University of Ibadan, Rev.
