The pioneer Music Director of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Samuel Olufemi Olukunle has slept in the Lord.
The music icon slept in the Lord on Sunday November 17, 2019 at his house in Alaska Meta Amuloko, Ibadan, Oyo state, at age 84.
The Assistant Music Director of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Paul Bankole stated in a message sent to CAC NEWS that; "this is to announce the passing into glory of Pastor Samuel Olufemi Olukunle the immediate past Music Director which occurred yesterday evening Sunday the 17th, 2019 in his house at ALASIA META AMULOKO, IBADAN.
His Biography
Pastor Samuel Olufemi Olakunle was born at Oke-Odan, Ogun State in 1935.
He attended Kaduna Government College where he obtained Royal Society of Arts Certificate in Book-Keeping, English, Economics, Commerce and Typewriting. He was honoured with a doctorate certificate in Hymnology. He attended CAC Theological Seminary from 1981-1983 and obtained Diploma Certificate in Theology.
He was an Office Manager and Accountant with Green HAM Plant Hire, a division of U.A.C. from 1965-1980 before he became a Minister of God. He pastored three assemblies within 11 years before he was deployed to the CAC General Secretariat Ibadan as Personal Assistant to Pastor J.D. Obafemi, former President of CAC Worldwide.
The legend worked on CAC hymns for the church and has arranged the English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Isoko Hymns versions. He also arranged tunes in staff-notation and tonic solfa for easy reference of those hymns. He is a translator by talent.
He wrote many books such as Ministers' Guide, Notes from the Bible, 100 Bible Lessons, Collections of Hymns With Similar Tunes in English and Yoruba.
Pastor Olukunle was the first Music Secretary and the first Music Director for Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, before he retired in the year 2015. He was in attendance when he was honored along side other heroes at the 2019 Music Ministers' Conference.

ReplyDeleteMay his gentle soul R I p, Baba Olukunle,peace, loving and a gentle man of God,We communicated to each other Ijebu dialect very effectively even I didn't know he wasn't an Ijebuman but that he hails from Ojaodan ,in fact am so short of words describing Baba Olukunle though junior to my Fad S.Y.Olamide but ,he was so friendly with each other n very jovial in words a times ,Baba we loved u but ur creator has taken u away at a ripe age of 84 rest in peace I'll the ressurection day bids farewell Adieu Baba Olorin.
