Use this period of lockdown to develop a deeper relationship with God, Pastor Abiara urges Christians

Christians across the globe have been urged to use this period of lockdown across many nations of the world to develop a deeper relationship with God.



The Senior Pastor, Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, Dallas, Texas, USA, Pastor Isaac Abiara stated this in his broadcast entitled "Eliminate the Distance."



While stating that there are two types of relationship which he said are horizontal and vertical relationships, the Cleric said vertical relationship is the relationship between us and God, stating that God is nearer to us than our thinking and we should use this period to move closer to Him.



According to him, God will protect those who have deeper relationship with Him against the present pestilence.



The Cleric described horizontal relationship as the relationship we have with our children, wife/husband, friends, spouses etc., saying that there might be time we have created distance in our horizontal relationships and the distance may be due to offenses.



He added: "eliminate this distance by forgiving offenses or someone who has wronged you. I know to forgive is not an easy thing. It takes a special grace of God, but if you are going to eliminate the distance in your relationship you must learn to forgive. When Jesus was teaching His Disciples about the Lord's Prayer, He said God should forgive us as we forgive those who trespass against us, meaning, if you want God to forgive you, you must also forgive what other people have done against you."



"We are in a week we will  celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ, let this time be a time you will eliminate this distance by forgiving what someone has done towards you. God is able to heal your pain. God is able to heal your wound if you can forgive. The Bible urges us to be at peace with one another. It is incumbent upon you as a child of God to take a step to eliminate the distance between you and someone who has offended you and I know that as you do this, it will bring peace within you."
