CAMA: It's dangerous for any nation to suppress men of God or religious activities- Prophet Abiara

A former General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Abiara, has lamented the controversy surrounding the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, saying it is dangerous for any nation to suppress men of God and religious activities.

Prophet Abiara spoke in an interview with journalists on Wednesday while reacting to questions on the state of the nation.

He warned that while government was in place to take charge of societal affairs, it was dangerous for those in positions of authority to take God and His anointed servants for granted.

The cleric said, “Nigeria is in a delicate situation. People may not know the gravity, but we are fighting war on all fronts. We are contending with Boko Haram, crime, coronavirus, corruption and many more. The situation is very dicey at the moment. We should steer clear of anything that can set the country on fire.

“For me, government should not interfere in religious issues because it is a spiritual affair. They should not pry into religious issues because it is God that leads the church as well as the mosque. Government should not provoke religious leaders because doing so may have adverse implications. We should seek peace.” (Punch)
