It was indeed a celebration of ten years of walking with God at the anniversary thanksgiving service of Christ Apostolic Church, Fountain of Life Assembly, Anifowose Zone, Mowe, Ogun State.
The glamorous celebration which was held on Sunday October 11, 2020 had in attendance the Zonal Superintendent of CAC Anifowose Zone, Pastor E.S. Olatunji. The service was held in compliance with Ogun State Government directives on COVID-19 as there were thermometer, hand sanitiser, soap and water.
As part of activities for the anniversary, new choir robes, offering box and ministers' regalia were dedicated.
While ministering on the topic "Learn How to Praise God", the Zonal Superintendent of Anifowose Zone, Pastor Olatunji
urged people at the service not to direct the glory of their achievements to their strength or ability, but to God, saying He is the Creator of all things.
He said being alive is not a right, but a privilege and that is why God must be appreciated.
"Being alive is not your right. It is a privilege. Many people are better than we and they are gone. Irrespective of the position you occupy, it is God who gave you the privilege," Pastor Olatunji said.
In an interview with CAC NEWS, the Minister in Charge of CAC Fountain of Life, Pastor Joshua B. Omowaye disclosed that the assembly started at Orita-Aje in Mowe on the 24th of March, 2010 and now we are at the permanent site at Anuoluwapo street, Ifeoluwa Estate road, Mowe, saying that God has been faithful since 2010 that the church started.
According to him, what has been upholding the church is just the grace of God and faith in God.
He added that "we have been having faith in God and faithfulness to the authority of the mission. There was a particular time that the authority asked us to do something and we didn't have the money in the church purse, we had to borrow the money to satisfy the need of the authority. It was later that the Lord sent help to the church and since then the church has been progressing. The journey since 2010 so far has been rough and smooth. It is rough when you look at it in terms of finance and the members are not yet there but God has been financing his church and he has made it smooth for us."
When asked to mention names of members who they started the assembly together and are still with them, Pastor Omowaye mentioned a particular Mr. and Deaconess Ajayi, Mrs Bolanle Lawal and Mr. Festus Shagu who is the chairman of the planning committee (though he joined us along the way).
According to him, his wife and children have been so supportive to his ministry, adding that "if not for them, I don't know where I would have been by now. There was a time I was travelling to Ikeji-Arakeji for Publicity Secretaries conference. On getting to Ibadan, I collapsed and my wife was called, she had to rush down to Ibadan to get a vehicle that would carry me back to Lagos. She has been so supportive to the ministry likewise the children. There were sometimes that we were financially handicap, I would use the last cash with me to finance the church and immediately I explain to them they would all understand."
When asked where he would like to see the church by year 2030, the Cleric said he sees the church in greater height and by the church would have become a DCC.
"We have two assemblies now. We have converted the place we were using before into a branch under this assembly. So I hope God will help us. Our theme this year is ‘Sounding the Gospel Trumpet’ meaning expanding the Kingdom of Christ through evangelism. So I believe with much evangelism, we will win more souls for Christ."
