The 75th birthday ceremony of the President of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Abraham O. Akinosun would hold on Thursday October 29, 2020, by 10am.
CAC News gathered that the ceremony would hold at Messiah Event Hall, CAC Agbala Itura, Olode, Ibadan, Oyo State.
It would be recalled that Pastor Akinosun turned 75 on February 27, 2020 and in view of that, the authority of the Church constituted a committee which had earlier planned to mark the 75th birthday with a grand celebration on May 1, 2020, but was postponed due to COVID-19.
In an exclusive interview with Christ Apostolic Magazine, Pastor Akinosun explained that: "If one wants to look at the past, it is very clear that the Lord has been the captain of the boat because it has not been so easy. I remember when I was at the Bible College, some of my friends would look at me and say “lucky guy”, while some would look at me and say “we have not seen anyone having problems or challenges of life like you.” My youth days were very challenging. There was a time I said if there was any poor family, my own family is the poorest of the poor. There was a day I was listening to the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, when he was talking about his past, it was just like mine. Until I passed out from my primary school, I never used slippers, not because I don’t like it, but because there was no money to buy one. I can count the number of days my father gave me a kobo throughout the six years when I was in primary school."
"Like I said before, when I was at the Bible College some would see me and say lucky guy. Similarly, people used to look at me as someone who is coming from a very rich home, but my teachers knew I was from a very poor family. After graduating from my primary school in my village very close to Akinyele Local Government, some women were happy because they thought they would be using me to till their farming yards. I behaved as if I never heard them. I used to perform more excellently in school than the children of those women and they were not happy because many of their children came out with failures."
"There was a day we experienced fire outbreak in our house and it erupted from where I put my box which has my certificates and testimonials. The whole house got burnt including all my documents and that was in 1961. They thought that was going to be the end of my achievements in life, but I thank God for His faithfulness in my life."
