The Authority of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, has warned ministers against the usage of titles like Apostle, Bishop and Reverend.
This was stated in a circular signed by the General Secretary of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur directed to all Regional, DCC, Zonal and District Superintendents and Assembly Pastors.
Pastor Mapur in his exact words said: "Calvary greetings in Jesus' name, Amen. You will recall some years back in 2003 when titles were rampantly used in Christ Apostolic Church by our Pastors which became a source of concern to the Church Authority, circular was sent banning the use of titles in Christ Apostolic Church like Apostle, Bishop, Reverend etc.
"At that time ministers adhered to that instruction, however, it has recently come to the notice of the Church Authority that such titles are surfacing again where ministers are bearing Apostle, Bishop, Reverend etc.
"I am directed to remind you that that ban is still in force. I am further directed to inform you that anybody using such titles is advised to drop them with immediate effect, otherwise if caught, will be dealt with accordingly."
