Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Igbala Districts Coordinating Council (DCC), Akure celebrated her 84th anniversary in grand style on Saturday September 18, 2021.
The anniversary marked the recognition of the establishment of church in 1937 by Prophet Joshua Sekiteri which later lead to the subsequent creation of CAC Ala District 1998 which later became CAC Oke Igbala Zone in 2004 and in the year 2014 , CAC Oke Igbala DCC was approved but effective from march 2015.
Elder Ademola Popoola ( CAC Oke Igbala DCC Publicity Secretary) reported that 18th September 2021 was dedicated to the presentation of Awards to Six (6) Pastors from Oke Igbala DCC, namely Pastor Michael Kayode Oyebode (CAC Oke Igbala DCC Secretary), Pastor Olusola Abiodun, Pastor Johson Olabanji Olaseeni, Pastor Raphael Adesuyi Abiri, Pastor Michael Adeoye Salami and Pastor Samuel Obakuro. They were severally given Merit award for their Selfless Service especially, their sterling qualities in church administration and development of Humanity.
In addition to these, Distinguished Service Award was also given to 18 notable members of the DCC namely, Mrs. Victoria Shola Olaiya, Elder (Engr.) Ebenezer Olugbenga Fadase,Deaconess Mojisola Osewa, Paa, Moses Olajide Abidakun, Elder Sikiru Adetona Sule, Elder Oluwole Oginni, Mrs Deborah Mojoyin Dada, Mrs Pelumi Famutimi, Elder Samuel Kolawole Ayantoye,Deaconess Rachael Oluwasesan Abisola, Mr. Moses Oluwatosin Famuwagun, Deaconess Olawole Omotayo, Elder Tolorunlogo Israel, Deaconess Ogunbameru Agnes, Elder Gideon Oluwagbemiga Idowu, Deaconess Marry Bolatito Esho, Mr. Ajayi Ologun and Madam Lydia Aribake Alowolodu (JP).The award was in recognition of their loyal and distinguished service to the church of God and Humanity.
The award ceremony was immediately followed by the appointment of Elders and Deaconesses. Seventeen (17) new Elders and Deaconesses were appointed.
Pastor Michael Adeoye Salami on behalf of the award recipient and the newly appointed Elders appreciated the Lord God almighty for the good gesture possessed by the DCC this time around under the leadership of Spirit filled son of God, Pastor Solomon Abayomi Olaiya.
He renamed him ‘OMO BABA ARA’ meaning ‘Every day with a new thing’.
On Sunday 19th September, 2021, the whole service was dedicated to God Almighty.
In his Sermon, the DCC Superintendent Pastor S. O. Olaiya spoke mainly on the usefulness of palm tree and quoted from Psalm 92 vs 12 which says “ but the Godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.’'
After the exhortations, some eminent personalities in Ondo State that were invited to be awarded were called to the stage.
Award of Excellence were given to Hon. Deaconess Julianah Omolola Fagbemi (Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs) Hon. Kemisola Adesanya, (Member Ondo State House of Assembly), Mr Gbenga Elewuju (Retired P.S. Ondo State) and Hon. Barrister Eyitayo Jegede (Former Ondo state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice).
They were awarded for being a Good Ambassador of Christ in other churches and their contribution to humanity.
Hon Julianah Fagbemi on behalf of the recipients appreciated the good work of God in CAC Oke Igbala DCC and thanked CAC Oke Igbala DCC for honoring them.
She also promised to always pray for the church and will always have the church in mind.
The Chairman Planning Committee Pastor M. B. Samuel (D/S CAC Oke Ijebu District) thanked the Congregation and invited guests while the DCC Superintendent Pastor Olaiya said the Closing prayer.
