Due to the security state of the country, the Acting Regional Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Akinyele Region, Pastor S. A. Adedayo has urged Ushers to be more proactive and be alert in performing their roles of providing maximum security in the churches during services.
Pastor Adedayo stated this while delivering the Welcome Address this morning at the 3rd Annual Ushers Conference of CAC Akinyele organised by the Ushering Department of the region holding at CAC Agbara-Itura, Lagos.
He noted that the state of insecurity in our nation has reached an alarming state and is on increase on daily basis.
According to him, the country continues to experience an inordinate high incident of armed violence, ranging from kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, insurgency, cultism, killings by Fulani herdsmen, raping, ethnic classes etc.
"Virtually every sector of the nation has experienced one form of attack or the other. Both military base and religious centres were not spared. There had been various attacks on churches of recent. For instance, A Deeper Life Pastor, Mayomi Ogedengbe by name was abducted by unknown gun men in his church premises at trese, near Akure in Ondo State on May 11, 2021."
"In lieu of this, and other numerous evils witnessed in churches, the ushers should be more proactive and be alert to their roles in providing maximum security in the churches during services."
