Another history was made in Christ Apostolic Church on Sunday, 14th of November, as Christ Apostolic Church, Christ Family Zone was inaugurated, and Pastor Isaiah Afolayan, Ikosi District's Superintendent, was inducted as the Zonal Superintendent.
The inauguration and induction ceremony was held at the Zonal Headquarter in Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos, yesterday.
The inauguration and induction process, according to CAC legal order, was conducted by Akinyele Regional Superintendent, Pastor S. A. Adedayo.
Pastor Adedayo in his message advised the inductee, not to see the position as an avenue to express pride, but to see it as that of work which requires more prayers and diligence.
According to him, the newly inducted Zonal Superintendent, Pastor Afolayan, as well as the zonal executives must see to both the physical and spiritual needs of the church.
Admonishing the church on the topic "Having zeal for God" Pastor Adedayo stressed the need for the church to imbibe good zeal, that which is of the kingdom, rather than being zealous for that which is evil.
"The church ought to be zealous for God rather than being money-driven."
"As a church, we must always see to the progress of God's work wherever we worship." He said.
Stressing the importance of soul winning, he added that the church also ought to live their lives in such a way that will reflect Christ and draw people to Him.
"We do not need much preaching, rather we must ensure that we live as Christ's followers everywhere we go."
Christ Family Zone comprises of three districts - Ikosi, Fountain of Mercy and Unchangeable Changer, which were formerly under Shomolu DCC.
The inauguration and induction service was well attended by ministers and members of the districts in the zone as well as ministers and members from Shomolu DCC, Redemption District amongst others.
A special recognition was given to Prophetess Balogun who God used her husband, Pastor Balogun to plant the church in the year 1974.
