The Cleric also appreciated the authorities of CAC Nigeria and Overseas for their presence and everyone in attendance at the programme.
The programme was also an avenue to celebrate the 29th wedding anniversary of Pastor Fasuyi and his wife, Mrs. J.T. Fasuyi with cutting of cake.
While ministering at the programme, the General Secretary of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Mapur said Jesus Christ didn't just leave His place in heaven to come to this earth, He came for a mandate.
He noted that the mandate connotes a charge, order or commission, saying that His (Jesus) Father in heaven gave Him a mandate to carry out a charge for a reason.
According to him, the core mandate of Christ is in Gen 3:15, He was sent as a rescuer because the world needed a Savior and He never wanted the world to perish.
Commenting on the the core mandate of Jesus, Pastor Mapur said His core mandate is to bring light to the world,
break the yoke of sin (if not for Jesus the oppressor would have dealt with us), bring good news of redemption and restoration of human kind, proclaim liberty to them that are bound, proclaim comfort to all that are mourning and give us oil of joy.
He said there will be peace of God anywhere Jesus is received, emphasizing that God wants us to enjoy peace with Him, peace with ourselves and peace with people around us.
The Cleric implored that Christmas should be used as a time of reflection on our own relationship with our Maker.
On how we can respond to what Christ done for us, Pastor Mapur said we need to believe and accept Him as our Lord, follow Him everyday of our life, trust and obey His teaching and make disciples of all nations.
He concluded by saying that the birth of Jesus gave us hope for our present and eternity.
