It was an awesome experience as families and friends gathered to celebrate a living legend, the outgoing Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Oyingbo zone, Prophet Titus Oluwatowoju Ariyo who retired after 54 years of active and dedicated service. The constitution of CAC Nigeria and Overseas mandates it for ministers to retire at age 75.
The retirement service was held for Prophet Ariyo who is the third Zonal Superintendent of Oyingbo zone on Sunday December 19, 2021 at the headquarters of the zone in Oyingbo, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
Zonal Secretary of CAC Oyingbo Zone, Pastor Isaac Omoyeni while reading that farewell speech in commemoration of the retirement service described Prophet Ariyo who was transferred to Oyingbo in 2016 as meticulous, articulate, reliable, versatile, dynamic and bull Zonal Superintendent, saying that he retired after 54 years of meritorious service and exemplary leadership in CAC.
He revealed that Prophet Ariyo was born on 14th August 1946 into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Ola Ariyo of Oloya's compound, Oke Amola, Ode Oma, Osun State.
He further said the living legend converted and became a Christian in 1963 and was baptized by immersion by Late Prophet Samson Akande and equally received call to the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ which made him to undergo a tutelage under Baba Abaye and graduated in 1967 and was sent to where he started his ministerial journey.
Pastor Omoyeni disclosed that Prophet Ariyo worked in various stations across length and breadth of Nigeria before retiring at Oyingbo zone.
“You have served Lord with gladness, faithfulness and with great compassion for His flock, now as the day downs on the next chapter of your life, may God continue to richly bless you, watch over you and your family. The entire Oyingbo Zone are saying goodbye and wishing you and your family success in all future endeavors,” Pastor Omoyeni said to Prophet Ariyo as he concluded his speech.
While ministering at the programme, Prophet Ariyo charged the congregation to be steadfast in faith, and not to relent in their Christian journey, adding that;’’as you lay your bed, so you lie on it. Do what pleases God and not man.”
He urged the congregation to also work tirelessly for God and also not to be hypocrite.
“Work in love and unity. Where love and unity doesn't exist, there will not be progress. Where there is no love and unity, the work of God may not progress. Any work that doesn't involve love and unity, it is profitless,” he concluded.
