BIOGRAPHY OF LATE PASTOR DARAMOLA
Pastor Joseph Aderemi Oba Daramola was born on the 7th of July 1940 to the family of Late Pa Aje David Daramola from the Atewogboye ruling house of Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State Nigeria. His mother was Abigeal Talabi Aje Daramola from Sapetu Aborio family in Odo via Ado Ekiti. He was the only son and second born of four children of his mother.
Early Life
He had his primary education in Ado-Ekiti before proceeding to St. Mary’s Modern School in Ado-Ekiti. He could not go beyond modern school due to lack of sponsor hence took an appointment under The Ministry of Land and Survey in the defunct Western region of Nigeria where he worked for a period of six years.
Ministerial Call
During his youthful age, he liked reading the Bible in Church and was always seating beside the preacher so that could hear and quickly pick up whatever Bible passage that was called during the sermon and readout.
While working at the Ministry of Land and Survey, he found out that there was not much peace for him because and at that time, he had several visions and dreams of him leading the people of God and at some occasion as a warder. These were early signs from God encouraging him to yield to the ministerial service that God was calling him to. He was a prayer warrior, mentor and leader.
Dream Actualised
In 1973 the church council at Christ Apostolic Church OGBA-ALAFIA in Ado-Ekiti because of the potentials they saw in him made them decide to send him to Bible Training College (B.T.C), in Akure Ondo state.
He later attended the Pastoral Training Institute (P.T.I) in Agege Lagos and finally completed his pastoral training at the Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary at Ile-Ife between 1979-1980; his set was the pioneer set of the seminary at inception.
He was ordained as Pastor in CAC in 1980 by the third President of CAC, Late Pastor E T Latunde.
Ministerial Career
He started his ministerial career at CAC Giriyan around Lokojo formally Kwara state and now Kogi State as Catechist.
He was posted to CAC Oke-Itura Okene Kogi State after his ordination as the first CAC Pastor in the entire Ebiraland. The area witnessed tremendous growth during his time there. He was later transferred to CAC Imo Ilesha in 1989 as Pastor where he was promoted to the rank of District Superintendent and then transferred to CAC Alabukun District in Efon Alaaye Ekiti State as the pioneer District Superintended of the district.
He was transferred to CAC Oniyo district (now DCC) Ado-Ekiti in 1998 and then promoted to the rank of Assistant General Superintendent (AGS). He also served as DS at CAC Oke-Igbala district Ado-Ekiti (now zone) where he was promoted to the rank of Chairman in 2003 and transferred to Ilogbo DCC as the pioneer chairman. He had his last assignment at CAC Iloro Zone before retirement.
He was married to a God sent wife, Mrs Beatrice Funmilayo Daramola in 1971, through her God blessed him with good children and grandchildren.
In his lifetime, he loved singing songs and these are some of his loved choruses:
Ipade nla kan mbo nigbose, ipade nla kan mbo nigbose, a o koja odo didan lo sodo baba, ipade nla kan mbo nigbose.
Asan laye o, asan ni gbogbo ewa re, Oluwa tip ese ile fun mi loke, Jerusalemu lorun, ajoma de be.
Ah modupe, ye mo sope, ah modup baba mi loke o seun
O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder. Consider all the works Thy hand hath made………..
