It was a day to remember, a moment of excitement, happiness and thanksgiving to God almighty for a successful ministerial journey in the lives of pastor and Mrs Rufus Abiodun Fasoyin.
The retirement service held on Saturday 8th January 2022 had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life which include the president of the Mission and his wife, Pastor & Mrs S.O Oladele, Superintendents from various Dcc's and Zones, Babalola regional choir and many more.
Speaking on the purpose of gathering, the erstwhile registrar of Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary and the newly appointed Superitendent of Isokun DCC, Pastor T.A Adesoji said:" we are celebrating the man of God who had his ministerial calling at the age of 10. "
Reading the farewell address, the DCC Secretary, Elder (Dr) D.S Ogundahunsi said that during Pastor Fasoyin tenure, the entire church had experienced firsthand, the caring nature ,concern for members welfare, love for prayer and God's word and his dedication to the physical and spiritual development of the body of Christ.
Giving testimony about the celebrants life, Pastor Olaiya described him as a humble man without an element of pride and a prayer warrior.
Pastor S.O.A. Afolabi described him as someone whom he learnt humility from right from when he joined him at UMTC in 1985.
In his words, the President of the Mission, Pastor S.O Oladele said Pastor Fasoyin and himself went to bible college together in 1972. In a class of 30 of which he could recount 27 of their classmates vividly, 5 of them were very close friends. They were OLUWASOLA, BOLORUNDURO, OLUWALOWO, the president himself and the celebrant.
The President went futher to itemise 3 sins Pastors commits while in active service. These are the sin of individual imperfection, sins committed in our name and sins we are pushed to do against our wish. All these sins are to be washed away through Christ blood in prayers.
He congratulated Pastor Fasoyin and wished him well in his retirement years .
