The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele has urged ministers on being faithful and loyal to God and to the Church Authority, saying that eloquent speech, chrisma or gift without faithfulness and loyalty amount to nothing.
Pastor Oladele stated this on Friday January 14, 2022 while ministering on the topic "Loyalty in Service" taking his text from 1st Corinthians chapter 4 verses 1 to 2 at the Meeting of all DCC/Zonal Superintendents with the Church Authority held at CAC All Saints' Chapel, CAC General Secretariat, Ibadan.
He noted that as servants and Stewards of God, it is required that one must be faithful, noting that to be found unfaithful or disloyal attracts a lot of punishment in the secular world.
"It is not required that we should be eloquent, but we must be faithful and loyal. Moses was not eloquent, but he was faithful. Charisma, ability or gifts may not be there, but it is required that we must be faithful as stewards of the Lord. Those who are disloyal are the ones that destroyed the church from within. Sanballat and Tobiah destroyed the church from within," the President explained.
According to Pastor Oladele, if there are people the Church needs to be careful of, not outsiders, but disloyal and unfaithful people in the Church.
He said that "many ministers are misbehaving in CAC because they believe in "it is our church" slogan. They are doing what they can't do in other ministries"
While citing Joel chapter 2 verse 8, Pastor Oladele noted that the passage is about team spirit, emphasizing that "we can only achieve when we work as a team. Loving one another is the key. What will attract people to Christ is love."
He revealed that there is one plague affecting us as a church and it is doing things in your own way and the way you want it.
"There are two things that are foundational to our crisis in CAC and they are indiscipline and individualism. Individualism is what destroyed the devil and Joab. Those who are bent on doing their things in their own ways don't bring progress to the church. Inspite of clear direction from above, independent people still want to do things in their own way," he revealed.
Many people, according to Pastor Oladele thought they are serving the leaders, but they don't know they are serving God under them.
He further urged CAC ministers to "serve God in our lives. When you forget whom you serve you will quickly fall in snares. Wherever you are posted, you must not act as if you're the Lord of lords"
Apart from the President, the well attended meeting had in attendance the General Superintendent of the Church, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi, General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji, General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur, Finance Director, Pastor Johnson F. Omitinde and Missions Director, Pastor Caxton S. Fasuyi. Others in attendance are Regional Superintendents, DCC and Zonal Superintendents of the Church across the country.
