It was indeed another refreshing moment in God’s presence on Sunday, 6th February, 2022, as Christ Apostolic Church, Victory Chapel (English Speaking Assembly), Ikosi District, Christ Family Zone, celebrated her 8th anniversary.
The anniversary programme, tagged “A New Beginning” which had commenced since Monday, 30th January, was concluded with the thanksgiving service on Sunday.
Most of the church members, during the thanksgiving service affirmed that it was truly a new beginning, recalling their experiences and drawing testimonies from the previous year which was tagged “The Season of Perfection”.
In addition to the numerous testimonies from the members of the assembly, the assembly pastor, Pastor Raphael Adegoke, while recounting God’s goodness towards the church in the previous year(s), made reference to how God had helped the assembly plant a new branch at Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, in 2021.
He, however, stated that more grounds need to be covered in the new year.
Another important part of the thanksgiving service, which has been a usual practice each year during the assembly’s anniversary, was the appointment of new unit leaders to head different units, both at the assembly in Ikosi and the new branch in Igbogbo.
Admonishing the church during the anniversary message from Isaiah 40:31, on the need to do more in the new season, the curate, Pastor Peter Akerele, stressed the need for church members especially the ministers and the heads of units to keep waiting on the Lord by studying and meditating on His word.
He added that they should not rely on past glory, rather they should move forward.
The thanksgiving service also featured a prayer session led by the CAC Gloryland assembly pastor, Pastor Olusegun Makinde.
Zonal Superintendent, Pastor Isaiah Afolayan, though absent, was represented by his wife Evang.(Mrs.) Dorcas Afolayan and the curate.
The anniversary thanksgiving service was well attended by ministers and members from other assemblies both within and outside the zone, old members of the assembly, the assembly’s family and friends amongst others.
