It was all shades of happiness as members of Christ Apostolic Church Oyingbo Zone celebrated the occasion of their 12th anniversary on Sunday June 26, 2022.
The celebration which took place at the church auditorium in Oyingbo, Ebute-Metta, Lagos saw the procession of high praises, special renditions and recognition of invitees.
While delivering the anniversary message with the theme "Growing in church planting in the grace and knowledge of God", the Zonal Superintendent, Pastor Victor B. Ogunjemilua started by appreciating God for his mercy and Grace and then extended appreciation to Choir, Ministers and every members.
"Let us go on church planting," he emphasized. "Church planting brings about church growth. Growth means to increase in size, number, strength or quality. The tools to accomplish church growth is through Evangelism. Evangelism is the process of going out to persuade people to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and this is done by preaching to unbelievers.
He further implored everyone to join hands with the youths to preach the gospel to help the church grow as it is the duty of Believers, and prayed that God will add to His folds.
Also, he implored every members to start a change from themselves and start coming to church with all of their children and families as it is biblical.
He noted that the corrupted country should not be blamed on the leaders alone. "It is as a result of what we brought upon ourselves," he said.
While citing Phillips in Acts 7:58 as a good example of church planter, he said that the work cannot be done without the help of the Holy Spirit, knowledge of the Bible and grace of God.
He concluded by beseeching each of the five districts making up the entire zone, Oyingbo; Makoko; Ile-Ayo; Ikoga; and Botanical Garden, to consciously troop out for church planting and expressed his closing appreciation.
In compliance with the directive to all CAC assemblies to fast and pray for Nigeria, the Zonal Secretary, Pastor I. A. Omoyeni led the congregation in a fervent prayer session.
The anniversary came to an end with anniversary thanksgiving by all groups and vote of thanks by the chairman of the anniversary planning committee, Pastor M. A. O. Ayodele.
