The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele today June 20, 2022 has inaugurated the Conferences and Convention Planning Committee.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony which was held in the President's Conference Room at Anlugbua, Basorun Ibadan, Pastor Oladele urged the committee to ensure thoroughness and perfection in their planning of all conferences of the church and all groups and associations in the church.
He said as the overarching body that would coordinate and supervise planning and execution of all conferences of the Church, they should ensure very high standard that will uphold the Apostolic values that the Church believes, since theirs will be used as yardstick for all events at all levels of the church.
Also speaking during the inauguration, the General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur, spelled out the terms of reference for the committee.
According to him, the committee members would serve for one term of five years. They will act as an advisory committee to the General Executive Council (GEC).
They will be responsible for planning and seamless execution of programmes of all conferences of the Pastors' Conference and conferences of groups, departments and associations in the church.
They would draw budget for such conferences and see to its successful implementation. The committee is to ensure security of lives and property during conventions and submit regular report of it's activities to the authority.
The committee will also perform any other duties given to it by the Church's authority from time to time.
The committee is headed by Pastor Gideon Oladokun, the Itire DCC Superintendent.
Membership of the committee were drawn from many of the Church's regions. They are complemented by heads of associations and groups as well as some national officers and technocrats.
The President later on inaugurated the committee and prayed for their success.
The new committee was set up following the dissolution on May 10, of all standing committee of the GEC.
The committee later held its inaugural meeting where Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro, the Director of Youth Affairs, was appointed as its Secretary.
