The long awaited Christ Apostolic Church Youth Fellowship (CACYOF) Academic Summit has commenced on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022.
The summit which is tagged 'Agent of Transformation' and holding at the prestigious University of Joseph Ayo Babalola (JABU) has in attendance, youths from different campus fellowships both in Nigeria and beyond.
Attributing the program to the move of God and from 2Kings 2:11-14, the Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro during the welcome address stated that the move of God is always generational adding that God is an intentional and a purposeful God.
He further explained that it was God's intention for Elisha to cross to the other side of the river with his master Elijah and despite all the distractions and discouragements he got, he received the advantage of following his master.
In his words he said, "God has given everyone of us an equal opportunity to be a change to our generation; we should not look at God from afar and we should respond to the call of God personally."
"The sons of he prophets responded to God collectively but as for Elisha he responded to God personally." He added.
He also emphasised the need for young people to see themselves as those who has spent all and had nothing so as to experience transformation from God.
He added that every man needs to be deliberate about his response to God.
"If God is deliberate about you, then you need to be deliberate about your response towards Him."
Also citing the example of the woman with the issue of blood he established that it takes extra effort on the part of a man to experience transformation.
"If you don't touch Jesus you have not come." He added.
After the welcome charge by the Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro, the first lecture was delivered by the Fellowship President of CAC Youth Fellowship, University of Lagos, Brother Taiwo Awoyode on the topic "You are The Light and Salt on your Campus." The Assistant Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor S.O. Oke ended the day one with a powerful session tagged "Back to Bethel."
The programme continues today with different impactful and powerful sessions.
