The Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Iye Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Ekiti State, Pastor (Dr.) S.O. Ajayi has said Ministers of God who want to grow in grace have to study God’s word, understand it and live accordingly.
He also said that such ministers must have fellowship with the Holy Spirit; be prayerful, delegate duties to people, put in place an effective accountability system, embrace change, be creative, be patience and persevere.
Pastor Ajayi stated this on Friday July 22, 2022 while ministering on the topic "Growing in God's Grace and Knowledge in Time Like this" at the 2022 Ministers and their Wives Refresher Course of CAC Oke-Iye DCC held at the DCC headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.
On how to grow in the knowledge of God, Pastor Ajayi told the ministers that they must experience who God is,study God’s word (it gives knowledge and truth), trust in the Lord (faith), read Christian books, put on some worship music and perform function to edify God.
The Cleric said ministers and their wives must learn how to advise themselves with the knowledge and wisdom of God (James 5:13-20).
"King Ahab of Israel would not have committed such a grievous sin if his wife (Jezebel) had given him godly advice concerning the taking of Naboth’s vineyard. King Ahab disgraced the name of the lord. The actions of most couples through the counsels of their partner are act of disgrace to the name of God," he explained.
While delivering the welcome address on Saturday July 23, 2022 at Elders, Deaconesses and Church Workers Seminar which is the concluding part of the annual refersher course, Pastor Ajayi said;"modern church workers must take every opportunity to hone his/her skills and abilities to maximize his effectiveness for God as he grows in the basic competences in the position of services that God has placed him/her.
"For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more (Luke 12:48). Each church worker will be held accountable for his calling, character and competency in the Lord’s work."
