The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre in London, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has said the revival of 1930 brought liberation to the Gospel in Nigeria and gave birth to denominations like the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gospel Faith Mission and other denominations.
He said there is "no matter how we Chrismatic or pentecostal churches consider ourselves in Nigeria, we are standing on the shoulder of Christ Apostolic Church."
Pastor Ashimolowo said this while ministering last week on the topic "Grace and Knowledge as Catalysts for increasing Capacity in Leadership" at the Ministers Conference of CAC Anosike Region (Europe).
The Cleric also said that some people always give the credit of how the Gospel in Nigeria is expanding and blessing the world to Acrhbishop Benson Idahosa and he always says 'no."
He added that "revival happens every 40 years and every ten years. The first revivals happened in Nigeria in 1930, 1970, 1980 etc. Everyone takes their background back to the revival of 1930 up till tomorrow where God used the first General Evangelist of CAC, Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola. I studied two men in my life and I have read everything that have been written about them; and they are Billy Graham and Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola."
Pastor Ashimolowo disclosed that he got born again reading a tract but his first Christian growth was in CAC.
He stated that he was baptised in CAC in 1973 by late Pastor Faloye who was one time Pastor of CAC Ojoyin later Principal of CAC Bible School in Akure.
While speaking about present leaders of the Church, Pastor Ashimolowo said "this is one of the greatest seasons in the life of CAC. God has given the Church an unusual man, Bible Teacher, a man of purity, a man of purpose, a man with clear direction and understanding of the purpose of God and doing it with great integrity in the person of Pastor Samuel O. Oladele. You can only go as far as the leadership that is over you. CAC has been placed in the hands of some mighty men and the Church is going far.
