It was a day of overwhelming joy and fulfillment for the Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Christ Family Zone, Pastor I. O. Afolayan on Saturday August 20, 2022 when his daughter, Omotola Victoria was joined together with her long time sweetheart, Akinpelumi Akintola.
The wedding ceremony held at the headquarters of Christ Family Zone started with an engagement ceremony in the early hours of the wedding day.
The Akinyele Regional Superintendent, Pastor S. A. Adedayo conducted the holy matrimony alongside the Curate Pastor of the headquarters, Pastor Peter Akerele; English Assembly Pastor of the headquarters (Victory Chapel); Pastor Raphael Adegoke and Pastor-in-Charge, Foursquare Gospel Church, Gasline, Pastor Femi Omole (the church of the groom).
The colorful celebration of love had in attendance some minsters in CAC, family, friends and well wishers of the celebrants.
While ministering on the topic "Christian Marriage and the Things Attached", the Regional Superintendent of Akinyele Region, Pastor Adedayo said there are different kinds of marriages, namely christian marriage, muslim marriage, gay marriage etc., but God is not in support of any marriage other than the Christian marriage; expressing God's support of marriage in Genesis chapter 2 where He gave the woman to the man.
He noted that because of the importance of the institution of marriage, God didn't destroy it and He would't until He comes.
Pastor Adedayo also said that all Christians are wives of Christ waiting for the Marriage of the supper of the lamb.
"As Christians God has given us the Bible to make our marriage an exemplanary or model for other people in the world. Those who can make Bible their manual for marriage will become a model in this generation for others to follow," he said.
Digging deep into 1st Corinthians chapter 7 verse 1, Pastor Adedayo said, in Christian Marriage, the husband and wife should render due benevolence to each other.
"Everything the wife wants her husband to do to her she should do to her husband, likewise the husband must to his wife. If you want your spouse to be truthful and open to you, you need to do same to him or her. Anything you don't want from your spouse, don't do it to him or her. What causes chaos in many homes is that the husband and the wife are failing in their responsibilities," the Cleric explained.
He told the new couple that; "now that you have now entered into marriage, no one among you can boastfully says he or she has authority over him or herself. You both have authority over each other."
Pastor Adedayo said it is quite unfortunate that this day there are Christian homes or marriages that are like the marriages of unbelievers, while some of them are ministers of God.
The reception ceremony was held at the English Assembly of the headquarters immediately after the wedding.
