The General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi has admonised ministers of the gospel not to despise knowledge to avoid being cut-off, saying that they should add knowledge to grace for maturity (Hosea 4:6a).
Pastor Odejobi who stated this at the just concluded CAC 2022 Pastors Conference said;" the emphasis here is to grow in two important and essential aspects; which is grace and knowledge of the Lord. In essence, it connotes that we need to grow to the level of maturity on both sides as Christians and as such now, there should be evidences and blessings to establish the fact that there is benefits on both sides if we can proof our growth in them."
According to him, what grace requires from us is to grow in the knowledge of God, explaining that;"God has given us water in CAC which symbolises the Word of God and that is why we must let the Word of God dwell in us and not to replace water with His word. God also give us anointing oil which symbolises the Holy Spirit, we must not replace signs with the original."
On why we should grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, Pastor Odejobi said we should grow to become real and practical Christian, to become a productive minister and to have stamina to resist the devil and it's antics.
The General Superintendent implored Ministers not to take the grace and knowledge of the Lord in vain but rather prove level of growth in both grace and not the level of knowledge (maturity).
He stated that productivity is a confirmation of maturity which in turn gives room to blessing (1st Cor 8:9), adding that we become rich spiritually (in the Word of God, prayer and fasting), administratively, numerically, financially and materially if we grow.
"Grace and Knowledge are both good but the excellency of knowledge over grace is that, knowledge sustains and preserves what grace offers, that is, knowledge sustains salvation which was brought to us by grace (Titus 2:11-12), the Clergyman concluded.
