The Associate Pastor, Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Imole, Agbowo, English Assembly, Ibadan, Pastor Dr. Peter Olarenwaju has told Christ Apostolic Church youths that it is not enough to discover God's purpose but to know also know His plans for achieving His purpose, noting that one's fulfillment in life is tied to one's discovery of God's purpose for his life.
"Remember that it is not your purpose, it is His purpose," the cleric said.
Pastor Olarenwaju said this on Thursday, 1st September, 202 during the second lecture titled "Apostolic Youth: Purpose Driven Youths" at the 2022 Ikeji 2 Youth Conference holding at Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp Ground, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
According to him, God will never make anything without a purpose, adding that Apostolic youths are driven by purpose.
Pastor Olarenwaju, who is also the Secretary, Academic Summit Planning Committee, said that "God does not have a permanent person but a permanent purpose," stating that, "your fulfilment is tied to your discovery of God's purpose for your life."
"When one fails to discover God's purpose for his life, such person stands a chance of not living a meaningful and a significant life. At age twelve, Jesus lived a purposeful life," said Pastor Olarenwaju.
The Central Administrator and Project Officer, Christian Mission Education Services of the Foundation for Student Mission (FSM), told the youths that, "one important thing that will help a person fulfil purpose is regeneration. One can become anything in life but one will end up fighting against God if he or she is not regenerated in Christ Jesus."
The clergy man harped that, "man does not decide what his purpose is, he only discovers it. It is important to discover, develop and deploy your purpose so as to be useful to both God and man."
Explaining that God's purpose for man is in two parts, the general purpose which is the written word of God and specific purpose which is the special and unique for individuals, also revealed that purpose can be discovered "through God's instructions; through a God- centered life; through God driven passion; through selfless service; through God-driven circumstances; through scriptural revelation," amongst others.
Pastor Olarenwaju pointed to the youths that, their gifts and abilities are God's tools to discover purpose, stating that a purpose driven youth is always driven by the Holy Spirit.
