All pomp and circumstance greet the community of Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Main Campus, Opa, Ile Ife, as it is set to host the 2022 Academic Conference of the National Association for Christian Studies (NACS).
The Annual Conference of academic theologians, Christian religious experts, and scholars will this year hold in collaboration with CACTS at the Main Campus from Monday, October 31st till Friday, 4th November 2022.
Themed "Christianity, Governance and the Question of Nationhood in Nigeria;" a Professor of African Religious Traditions and African and African American Studies, Harvard Divinity School and Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, Professor Jacob Kehinde Olupona will deliver a Keynote Address on "Rethinking the Place of Christian Traditions in Nation in Contemporary Nigeria."
A Professor of Religious Ethics, Religion and Society, and Religious Factor in Conflict and Peace, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Professor Jacob Kehinde Ayantayo will also present the 1st Lead Paper on the topic, "The Value and Devalue Factors in the Practices of Christianity, Governance and the Nigerian Nationhood;" while a Professor of New Testament, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Professor Olatundun Oderinde will present the 2nd Lead Paper on the topic "Governance and Nationhood in the New Testament Perspective".
As part of the social spices of the academic euphony, the conference will present awards of honour at the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, 1st November, 2022 by 10am to the Principal Officers of the Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas; Former Chairmen of the CACTS Governing Council; the Provost of the Seminary, and others.
