It was a night of joy and jubilation on Friday November 18, 2022 as Christ Apostolic Church Youth Fellowship (CACYOF), Apeka District, Ikorodu, Lagos held Mega Praise Concert which was the first of its kind in the history of the District. It was tagged "Exaltation."
The concert started with an opening prayer by the District Superintendent, Pastor I.A. Ajayi.
Guest artistes who ministered at the programme are Sola Atobajaye, Adeolu Omoalayo Onilemo, Tunji Praise, Okiki Jesu fuji, KDCC Youth Choir, Vsax, Stephen Owoniho, Owutu Zone Youth Choir and other ministers of God.
The District Youth Coordinator, Pastor Joshua Jayeoba when giving the welcome speech gave glory to God Almighty for making the concert a reality despite the plans of the devil to stop it.
According to him, exaltation means to lift up and everyone present at the programme was there to lift up the name of the Lord.
He therefore dished out the blessings that are attached to praises: "as we give praises, we invite God's presence. Healing and Deliverance happen as we praise Him. Praise brings down the intervention of God. Praise makes you an unconquerable champion. Praise makes abundant blessings available for you. True and genuine praise opens the gate of heaven. God moves greatly when His people praise Him. When you feed God with praise, He will also feed you with His face. When you praise God sincerely from your heart, you will stop sweating and start winning."
He further urged the congregants not to see the concert as an avenue to just sing and dance but see it as a way of having a great encounter with God.
Pastor Kolawole Oluwaseun while giving the charge on the theme "Exaltation" said Praise is something that is valuable to give to someone that is worth it (Rev 4:11).
"If we praise God, He will lift us up. If you pray to God, God sends His messanger, but if you praise Him, He will come down Himself," he said
The Cleric identified praising God with mouth while heart is far away from Him as the reason praises are not effective these days.
According to him, praise is something that should come from within. He therefore made reference to the book of Acts where Paul and Silas were delivered from prison through the act of praises.
"We need to praise Him because He is worthy to be praised and we need to exalt Him because He is worthy to be exalted," the Cleric said conclusively.
