The Regional Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Orogun Region, Pastor Emmanuel S. Famuyide has urged Christians across the globe to imitate Deacon Philip by reaching out to people with the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor Famuyide who stated this on Wednesday November 16, 2022 while delivering the Welcome Address at Osun State Mega Crusade was represented by the Regional Secretary of Orogun Region, Pastor T.A. Adesoji (who is also the DCC Superintendent of CAC Isokun DCC).
Speaking on the theme of the Regional Crusade which is "Great Joy in the City" with the text taken from Acts chapter 8 verses 4 to 8, the Cleric said the event that resulted into joy in Acts 8:4-8 was the bold step taken by Philip during the era of persecution that occurred in Jerusalem shortly after Pentecost.
Pastor Famuyide noted that Deacon Philip left Jerusalem, his comfort zone and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people that dwelled in Samaria, saying that to the glory of God the inhabitants of Samaria accepted the Gospel with open hearts leading to miraculous acts; lames walked and many were healed.
According to him, this singular act of Philip in evangelizing the city, brought great joy into the city; an example for us to learn from today.
"If Philip alone could enter Samaria and cause a historical wave, we are more than Philip; we can do much more. It is high time we emulated the acts of Philip and replicated this event in our land by going out in large numbers to evangelize this city. God has given us the land (Joshua 1:3). He has given us enough promises in the scriptures, His Spirit is ready, His power is available and the harvest is ripe. Let us reach out the more by inviting more people for this programme, most especially non-Christians through house to house method, early morning cry, tracts and other means as the Lord grants us the grace. Osogbo and the whole of Osun State is for Jesus! Jesus shall reign in this city and in Nigeria at large. As we reach out these three days and beyond, I pray: there shall be regeneration of souls, there shall be healings, there shall be deliverances, there shall be transformation of lives and there shall be diverse encounters with the Holy Ghost in Jesus name. Amen," he said.
