The Regional Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church, Akinyele Region, Pastor S. A. Adedayo has charged graduating students of the Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS) Main Campus, Ile Ife, to be ready for the ups and downs attached with the field experience of ministry, stating the need to pass in the school of God.
Speaking and answering pertinent questions along with his wife at the Day 2 of the Seminary's 41st Convocation Ceremonies tagged "Ministerial Field Experience and Spouse Seminar", the cleric related his ministerial experiences, emphasizing to his audience the several odds in the ministry.
At the seminar held at the Seminary auditorium on Tuesday 22nd of November 2022, Pastor Adedayo shared how he was called into the ministry in 1975 and taken to Prophet T. O. Obadare for two years tutelage before he was posted to a church, worked as an Evangelist for 10 years before his pastoral ordination in Ilesa. He urged the graduands not to rush as many run after pastoral ordination without serving well as Evangelists.
The cleric who listed the churches (Nigeria and London) he has served as minister before reaching the post of the Regional Superintendent shared the challenges God has helped him overcome, and how no one called by God can escape challenges.
The clergyman mentioned how he never rejected or complained when posted to any church but would rather faithfully serve God.
According to him, whenever he felt to complain or reject any posting to a local church as a minister, the Holy Spirit ministers his watchword to him being Hebrews 13:17, adding that he never begged for any position given to him, urging the Seminary community not to lobby for position but rather work hard to be genuine ambassadors of Christ amidst the pressures of ministry.
Pastor Adedayo mentioned some of his ministerial strategies to include, dependence on God for instructions which comes through personal and secret prayers; never changes any programme in his first year in any church he's newly posted to; takes preaching, teaching and counseling very seriously; and, he works together in unity with the elders, committee and other ministers of the church he's been posted to.
The Akinyele Regional Superintendent appreciated God and the Management of the Seminary led by the Provost, Pastor Prof. C. O. Oshun for his acceptance as the Speaker at the event.
The wife of the Superintendent, Mrs. Adedayo also ministered impactfully on Marriage and Spouses' seminar and prayers were made for the graduands.
The day was rounded off with a solemn holy communion service presided over by Pastor S. A. Adedayo and the Provost, Pastor Prof. C. O. Oshun.
