The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele has stated that promotion is no longer automatic in the church.
That is why, according to him, some weeks ago people who came for the interview for District Superintendent, Zonal Superintendent and DCC Superintendent in Ikeji-Arakeji went through thorough interview and written exam in which only those who meet up with the pass mark were promoted.
Pastor Oladele stated this on Saturday December 3, 2022 at a One-Day Human-Capacity Development Training for CAC General Secretariat Staff organised by the Church Authority held at CAC All Saints' Chapel, CAC General Secretariat, Ibadan.
The programme, which is in line with the Three-Point Agenda of the present administration of the church, had in attendance apart from the President, the General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur and Finance Director, Pastor Johnson F. Omitinde. Directors, Heads of Departments and Staff of the Secretariat were all in attendance.
He told General Secretariat Staff not to be surprised when more measures are introduced, which, he said, is to bring out the best in them.
The Clergyman further said that the church (Christ Apostolic Church) matches-on with or without anybody (including himself), urging them to be up and doing, adding that:"this is not a civil service environment. Don't work as civil servants.
"You must embrace change. There are some of us who are not ready to embrace change. You need to be what you have to be for God and this organization.
"Consider yourself to be blessed and favoured to have been employed to work here. Everyone has to prove to be worthy of the employment given to him," he stated.
While imploring the staff of CAC General Secretariat not to be too spiritual to think that messages from the corporate world can't be of help to them, Pastor Oladele explained how the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi was at a training organised by Coca-cola at its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in which when he came back he implemented everything he learnt there and it brought about the positive changes in Deeper Life.
There were four different lectures at the training namely: "Total Quality Management" by the Acting Director of Admin. and Music Director of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Tope Dada, "Enhancing Security & Safety in Christian Organization- CAC as an Example" by Pastor Goodness Udoh, "Conflict and Diversity Management" by the District Superintendent of CAC New Covenant District, Pastor Abraham Ekebafe and "Success Habit" by the Special Assistant to the President, Pastor T.D. Asokeji.
The training also featured questions and answers session, group photography, refreshment etc.
