As the whole world welcomes a brand new year with great expectation, the Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Ikorodu Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Ikorodu, Lagos, Pastor Lawrence O. Akinloye has said this is the right time for everyone to move closer to God and also be at peace with men.
Pastor Akinloye who stated this in an exclusive chat with CAC News Correspondent said there is need for everyone to move closer to God than previous years.
"This is the right time to reconcile with God because if we fail to repent Christ will come unexpectedly. God is expecting us to leave our old life of sin. We should make a determination for the new year," he stated.
Pastor Akinloye also opined that the church needs to take the preaching of the gospel of Christ more important than ever this year.
He added that; "It is when the church fails to preach the gospel that trouble and chaos we are witnessing in our society started. We need to go back to preaching of the gospel and accept it as our responsibility to bring in new sheeps for Christ. It's non preaching of the gospel that affects the nation."
He noted that if the kingdom or governments of this world have failed in all things, God can't fail to protect His people.
On 2023 general elections, the Clergyman said; "as we prepare for general elections, everyone one of us should perform our civic responsibility and be praying God should choose for us a man after His own heart that will make peace to reign in the country."
