The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele has urged new graduands of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) to match learning with character in order for them to fulfill their divinely-ordained purpose in life.

He further said any learning that is devoid of character will end in disgrace, praying for the graduands that they shall not be disgraced in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Pastor Oladele stated this at the 13th Convocation Ceremony of JABU held last Friday where the institution graduated 418 students.

"I congratulate you, graduands, on the successful completion of your chosen course of study. I believe that you have invested valuable time and resources to acquire requisite knowledge and skills in your respective fields of study for which a certificate is being awarded to you today. Nonetheless, you must match learning with Character in order for you to fulfill your divinely-ordained purpose in life. The Bible says, 'but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Indeed, any learning that is devoid of character will end in disgrace. You shall not be disgraced, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ," the President said.

Pastor Oladele stated that success is not a destination but a journey; it is a process, not a product.

He therefore said; "I charge you to be humble, discipline, teachable and diligent. Do not to relent in seeking to know The Truth which will make you free. The Bible says, 'and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free' (John 8:32). Like sharpened arrows drawn from the quiver, you are being launched today, shot on target, to make impact. You will succeed, in Jesus’ Name."

Pastor Oladele said that the vision of the university’s founding fathers was to produce intellectuals with spiritual inclination that would impact the world positively.

The Clergyman said that JABU was not just a higher institution, but a crucible where men and women of character, integrity and enterprise were formed.

He commended the assiduousness of the institution’s management and staffers in spite of the challenges they were facing.
