It was a day of true apostolic fire at this year's edition of the Annual Apostolic Fire Conference organised by Christ Apostolic Church, The Worship Centre Zonal Headquarters, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos with the theme “Walk Before Me And Be Perfect."
The programme being the 7th edition held on Friday, 13th and Saturday, 14th 2023 with different impactful sessions, such as, praise and worship; welcome address by the Zonal Superintendent of CAC The Worship Centre Zone, Pastor Seyi Adeyemi; Panel discussions; ministration 1 by the District Superintendent of CAC Olanrewaju District, Pastor C.A.S. Daramola and ministration 2 by the Lead Pastor, The Logic Church, Pastor Flourish Peters. The Regional Superintendent of Pearce Region, Pastor S.O. Aluko was also in attendance.
In his welcome address, Zonal Superintendent of CAC The Worship Centre Zone, Pastor Adeyemi said the road maps over the last 6 years of the programme have been impressive, saying Holy Spirit has over the years given inspiring themes which are; Tongues as of Fire (2017), Eyes on Eternity (2018), Beauty of Holiness (2019), Hope of Glory (2020), Hearing by the Word of God (2021) and Behold I come quickly (2022).
While he said the theme of this year's edition, "walk before me and be perfect", the Clergyman urged Christians to examine themselves.
"If indeed you have been born, there's a time to sit and then to crawl. Then comes the time to begin to walk. As a toddler you may stumble and fall occasionally as you learn to walk steady, but after a while when you have walked long enough, God is going to demand that you walk perfect," he said.
The District Superintendent of CAC Olanrewaju District, Pastor Daramola while ministering on the topic; "Overcoming Challenges to our Christian Walk" using Abraham as a case study urged Christians to let God supervise their Christian walk.
He said; "you can't walk perfectly without looking at Christ's face. Christ must be the model of your walk. Be conscious of your walk with God. Be deliberate about your walk with God. Be systematic in your walk with God. To walk before Him and be perfect, the walk must be deliberate."
Explaining how Abraham went to Egypt without God's consent, Pastor Daramola said "everytime you look for a convenient situation against the will of God, you will always come with Hagar (Genesis 16)."
While noting that God was silent to Abraham for 13 years, the Clergyman said "as a Christian, anytime you are following your own way, God will always be silent to you," adding that "anytime you allow men to control your life God will be looking at you."
In his fatherly charge, the Regional Superintendent of CAC Pearce Region, Pastor S.O. Aluko said the ministry must be properly defined so that the attention will not be laid on auxiliaries things at the expense of the real thing.
"Many are doing things that are not part of the ministry. Many people are doing things God never asked them to do. We need to revisit the meaning of ministry from the perspective of the owner, Jesus Christ. Ministry is given, not earned. You are given a portion of the whole thing. Ministry is about teaching people about Jesus Christ and making them disciples of Jesus, not for yourself. There are Pastors who want the people to know them, not Jesus Christ," he said.
