In order to foster interdenominational relationship between the Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary and Archbishop Vining College of Theology (AVCT), Akure, the football teams of the duo have played an exciting friendly match that left the seminaries basking in the euphoria of an established bond.
Marking their 106th Founder's Day Celebration, the Archbishop Vining College of Theology of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) had requested the CACTS football team to play the friendly match which held on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at the AVCT football field.
The CACTS football team won their host with a second half goal by their striker in a tight and interesting game that seemed unending.
The Rector of the College, Venerable Dr Moses Adebolu Adetunmbi had thanked the CACTS team for accepting their invite being the first of its kind with the seminary.
Expressing his neutrality at the game, recognizing both teams as his, the Rector blurted that, "I hope before the end of the session, we will retaliate. We will come and beat you in your home."
The CACTS Provost, Pastor Prof. C. O. Oshun, represented by the Director of Students' Affairs, Pastor M. A. Adetunji, appreciated their host and what God is doing at the College.
Admitting the warm hospitality and reacting to the established relationship between the two theological institutions, the Provost historized that the Christ Apostolic Church in 1918 stems from the St. Saviour's Anglican Church, Ijebu Ode, adding that, "so, we are home."
"We look forward to other engagement and benefits beyond this," the Provost said.
The CACTS football team were accompanied by some officers of the Students' Body led by the Students' Leader, Evang. Aisikin Akinwale; the Director of ICT/HOD Sports, Pastor J. O. Ademiluyi; and the Director of Students' Affairs, Pastor M. A. Adetunji.
