The Regional Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Akinyele Region, Pastor S.A. Adedayo has admonised ministers on the need to be humble, saying that humility being the hallmark of every successful Christian leader was an indispensable virtue for every Minister of God.
He defined humility as a state of being humble, meek, and gentle, noting that it's the grace that makes one not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think.
In a report exclusively obtained by CAC News, signed by the Secretary of Akinyele Region, Pastor Seyi Oyedeji, Pastor Adedayo stated this at the recently held Akinyele Region All Ministers Prayer Summit at CAC Somolu DCC headquarters, Somolu, Lagos; taking his text from Philippians 2:1-2.
On areas ministers should humble themselves, the Cleric implored the ministers to humble themselves in relationship between leadership and followership, in relationship between friends, in the Church of God and in relationship between them and their wives.
"We must not think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think. We must think of ourselves with sobriety and moderation. Regardless of our education, status, position and wealth, wherever we are, we should see ourselves as neighbours with others," Pastor Adedayo stated.
On the reward of the humble, Pastor Adedayo noted that the humble will receive favour (Proverbs 3:34), the humble will be lifted up (Psalm 147:6) and God answers the prayers of the humble (Psalm 10:17).
He finally encouraged all the ministers to be humble, and by so doing, they would resemble Christ.
The Church Auditorium was filled up to capacity with Ministers of God in the Region, comprising the Regional Superintendent, DCC/Zonal Superintendents, District Superintendents, Pastors, Evangelists and Midwives.
There were various sessions of prayer ranging from prayers of thanksgiving/forgiveness of sins, Holy Spirit and power, prayers for the Church and the Authority, for Nigeria and to meet individuals needs.
