The 2023 edition of the annual Sunday School Day organised by the Department of Christian Education, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas holds on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February, 2023.
The programme will hold at each Assembly, District Headquarters, DCC or Zonal headquarters as the case may be. Sunday School Day manual put together by the Christian Education Department for the programme is available in English and Yoruba languages for just N200. It's available at CAC General Secretariat, Ibadan, Akure, Osogbo, Eastern and Northern parts of the country.
Sunday School Day donations which would be collected on Sunday 19, 2022 would be remitted during Sunday School Rally in March/April this year.
Director of Christian Education, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor S.O Falade said: "this year, 2023, God is helping us to delve into another equally very important area. The theme is SUNDAY SCHOOL: SHINING THE LIGHT OF GOD'S WORD. The Holy Spirit has graciously assisted us to break this down into three different lectures. Lecture one is, THAT HE MAY COMMAND HIS CHILDREN, directed towards enhancing the children ministry. Lecture two: HONOURING OUR FATHERS GODLY LEGACIES: SUNDAY SCHOOL'S ROLE, targeted towards improving upon the efficiency of Sunday school among us. And lecture 3 is, GOD'S WORD: LAMP AND LIGHT FOR CONTINUED RELEVANCE, which discusses in details our watchword for the year 2023, Psalms 119:105: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (NKJV)."
He noted that it is expected that these lectures will be treated within the space of two days, Saturday and Sunday, 18th and 19th February, 2023, advising that lectures one and two be discussed on the first day, while the third lecture should come up, on Sunday, most likely, during the service.
Pastor Falade said: "we humbly appeal to our fathers in our different Assemblies to kindly allow Sunday school personnel or any other lover of God's Word to take the lecture on Sunday. In any case, it is expected that each Assembly, should observe the programme, at least, before the Sunday School Rally, 2023, holding in the months of March and April, 2023.
