The joy of congregants at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Redemption Zone, Ikare-Akoko, in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, knew no bound on Saturday May 6, 2023 when the zone was inaugurated by the authority of CAC Nigeria and Overseas.
Simultaneously, Prophet Olajide Peter Owolabi was inducted as the pioneer Zonal Superintendent by the newly inducted Regional Superintendent of Odubanjo Region, Pastor Benjamin Akanmu who represented the church authority.
While delivering his homily, Pastor Akanmu, who expressed optimism that the newly inducted pioneer Zonal Superintendent would rightly lead the congregation well, said that a good leader must be pious and live aboveboard so as to bequeath an unblemished template for the followers.
The revered cleric who drew his text from the Holy Book of Numbers 27 vs 15, highlighted the qualities of a good leader, explaining that christian Leaders must not domesticate polygamy in their various homes, adding that the act is directly antithetical to the tenets of the church.
Reeling out other qualities, Pastor Akanmu said, “a leader must be walk and work blamelessly. For example if a pastor is a fornicator and preaching against fornication, such person can't lead the church to the right direction”
“A good leader must have good reputations and must uphold the tenets of Christ. He must not be obsessed with money, must be able to manage his home and raise Godly children.
The Regional Superintendent, however advised the leadership of the church to promptly pay pastors' remuneration as and when due, noting that the prompt payment could be achieved through consistent commitment to tithe and offerings.
The church should also heed to the faultless counsel of the vicar-in-charge, Pastor Akanmu said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the eye-catching induction, Prophet Owolabi appreciated God and the authority of CAC worldwide for embracing the elevation wholeheartedly despite the prevailing situation of country.
When asked about the roles being played by men of God on the incessant communal clash in Ikare-Akoko, Prophet Owolabi said prayers have not ceased over the boiling issue.
He also noted that the ancient town would soon experience tranquility as there will be divine intervention.
