It was another day of history on Saturday May 20, 2023 at Christ Apostolic Church, Yemetu Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Ibadan as her 4th DCC Superintendent, Pastor Joseph Oluwasinayo Awotunde was formally inducted by the Authority of CAC Nigeria and Overseas.
Pastor Awotunde who was the immediate past Zonal Superintendent of CAC Ilelabo Zone, Ifira Akoko, Ondo State was inducted by the Regional Superintendent of CAC Babalola Region, Pastor J.O. Ogunwuyi representing the Church Authority.
The colourful service had in attendance family and friends of the new Superintendent, ministers and members of the DCC.
Among the notable personalities in attendance are the DCC Superintendent of Agbala-Itura DCC, Ibadan, Pastor A.O. Akinpelu; DCC Superintendent of CAC Sango DCC, Pastor J.B. Agunbiade and many others.
The Regional Superintendent of CAC Babalola Region, Pastor Ogunwuyi while ministering on the topic "Follow Peace with all men" from the text Hebrew 12:14, said we are not allowed to exempt anyone in pursuing peace, we are to pursue peace with all men no matter what.
He noted that anyone who follows peace will inherit it and anyone who is not peaceful will not have rest of mind.
Pastor Ogunwuyi implored the DCC to cooperate with their DCC Superintendent by pursuing peace with him.
Earlier in his speech, the Secretary of Yemetu DCC, Pastor J. Johnson Oyewole said it is not a gain saying that the DCC had been blessed even from her inception as a DCC with different fathers of strong faith, leaders with great repute and integrity and men of great wisdom/vision.
He added that; "Those men that I am talking about are Pastor Gabriel Durojaye, (of blessed memory), Pastor (Dr) G. A. Alokan (of blessed memory) and the immediate past administration led by Pastor B. O. Akanmu who through his loyalty and commitment to the Authority of the Church was recently elevated to the position of Regional Superintendent. He is the Current Regional Superintendent of Odubanjo Region in Akure. We also pray for a Successful tenure in office for him."
He noted that they are indeed very grateful to the Authority of the Church for posting their new DCC Superintendent, Pastor Awotunde to them, saying that his coming to the DCC is timely and divine.
"Within this short period of his stay in our midst, he has visited not less than nine (9) Districts. Assurance of visiting the remaining Districts/Area Centres soon has also been given by him. He is of a great expectation to see the fire of revival burning in all the Districts/Area Centres under his watch. CAC Yemetu DCC Idi Odo has remain loyal and committed to the Authority of the Church ever since and of which shall continue under the new administration of our father, Pastor Awotunde. We shall be faithful to the Authority on all the stipulated financial responsibilities and also we shall exercise strict compliance in making all CAC policies and programmes effected at every level in this DCC. This same commitment shall be extended to Babalola Region where we belong," Pastor Oyewole stated.
