Against what is rampart among many people who ignorantly neglected their health and wellness, the Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Odi-Olowo Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Lagos, Pastor D.O. Ogungbenjo has advised ministers and church workers not to live unhygienic lifestyle which causes more harm to their body systems.
The Cleric also kicked against the attitude of some people to rest, which he said causes more damage to body systems.
Pastor Ogungbenjo stated this on Saturday June 11, 2023 at the 2023 edition of the annual Refresher Course of CAC Odi-Olowo DCC, Lagos organised for Ministers, their wives Elders/Deacons, Deaconesses and Church Workers.
Speaking on the topic "Biblical Solutions to Health Challenges," he noted that sicknesses are not natural phenomena but they are caused by sin, disobedience to God or abuse of the body.
He further said that "your body is abused when you give it what it does not need and when you deprive it of essential things it needs".
He emphasized that the original diet God gave to man for good health is herbs and fruits according to Psalm 104:13-15, as he listed out some solutions to health challenges, adding that everyone needs to take fruits and vegetables daily as a meal, eat the right quality of food, eat the right quantity of food, eat at the right time of the day, avoid sugary food, rest often and take water regularly.
He added that exercise is very good for the body, it reduces the risk of heart diseases, regular workout improves the blood cholesterol, strengthens the bones and muscles even as he gave practical demonstrations.
"The most common problem worldwide is health problem. However, God in His wisdom and love as a father proffers solutions to this in His word and also through human knowledge," he noted.
The programme ended with Holy Communion service, as the DCC Secretary, Pastor F.A. Oke appreciated everyone for their support towards the success of the annual Refresher Course.
